Brian Jones was born and raised in Pleasant Garden, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and currently resides in Gibsonville, NC with his wife and son.

Brian’s interest in art began at a young age while watching his mother draw and paint. His mother, high school and college classes, and experimentation with different types of media have all helped Brian develop his style.  The majority of Brian’s work is stippling which he was introduced to in high school.  Stippling is the art of applying ink in small dots and appeals to Brian because of the level of detail that can be added.

Most of Brian’s work is in the style of stippling, but he also enjoys sketching in pencil and photography. The majority of Brian’s work is landscapes and his ideas come mainly from family vacations. His list of works consists of subjects such as the North Carolina lighthouses he visited during his youth, lighthouses from New England where his wife grew up, national and state landmarks and parks, historical sites, and sites and scenes from family vacations.

Brian’s award-winning work has been displayed at the Burlington Artist League Gallery, the Bertie County Arts Council in Windsor, NC, the Chowan Arts Council in Edenton, NC, and various other locations across the state. His work can also be seen in the books “Center Friends the Legacy of the Meeting on the Hill” by Kay Davis Coltrane and “Growing Memories” by Jane Kirkman Kimel.
